DENIN’s Pitch:90 student research competition returns Nov. 4
September 29, 2025
Environmentally-relevant research takes the stage for a fast-paced presentation competition
Quick! The elevator doors are closing, and you have 90 seconds to tell the person standing next to you about your research. What do you say? Why does your research matter?
Being able to explain your research clearly, concisely and engagingly is an important skill, and at Pitch:90, student researchers have just 90 seconds to describe their work to a judges panel. The competition gives students a chance to develop their communication and presentation skills while highlighting their research, all at a social event with free catering and beverages.
The Delaware Environmental Institute (DENIN) is looking for undergraduate and graduate students conducting research at any higher institution in Delaware to showcase their work and its environmental relevance. There are $900 in prizes up for grabs, and the best pitch of the night takes home $500.
The Institute is also looking for UD faculty, community members and representatives from local businesses, schools, nonprofits and government agencies to join the judges panel, helping determine our winners by scoring each contestant’s pitch.
Pitch:90 2025 will be held at Clayton Hall on Tuesday, Nov. 4, from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Registration is open!
The deadline for contestants is Oct. 6. Those interested in judging may register through Oct. 14.
