The University of Delaware’s Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics welcomes Dr. John Gray as the W.L. Gore Lecture Series in Management Science featured speaker on Thursday, Oct. 26. at 6 p.m. at the FinTech Innovation Hub on UD's STAR Campus. A reception will follow the lecture.
Generic drugs with the same active ingredient, dosage form and route of administration are assumed to be interchangeable. Under this assumption, both users and providers rarely concern themselves with who manufactures the drugs they consume or prescribe. However, there is growing anecdotal evidence that where a drug is manufactured may impact the quality of the drug in use.
Gray’s lecture entitled "Are All Generic Drugs Created Equal?" will focus on a large-scale empirical study that finds that there are systematic differences in quality between drugs made in different geographic locations. He will also report on ongoing empirical testing of possible policy solutions.
The W.L.Gore Lecture Series in Management Science is sponsored by an endowment from the Gore family. It features experts in the application of probability, statistics and experimental design to decision making, including applications in academia, business, government, engineering and medicine.
W.L. Gore Lecture Series in Management Science recognizes the key role that the fields of probability, statistics and experimental design have played in the success of W.L. Gore & Associates, Inc. The inaugural lecture in this series was given in March 2011.
