Campus memorial for Sabrina Navaretta

Students, faculty, staff invited to May 17 event

A campus memorial for Sabrina Navaretta, the University of Delaware freshman who passed away April 28, will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 17, in Mitchell Hall.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and students, faculty and staff are encouraged to arrive early to leave a remembrance for Ms. Navaretta to be included in a memorial scrapbook.

Ms. Navaretta was an Honors student in the Lerner College of Business and Economics studying management. She was a member of the Louis Redding Hall community and a sister of Phi Sigma Sigma sorority.

Two scholarship funds have been established in Ms. Navaretta’s memory.

The family has established the Sabrina Navaretta Scholarship Fund that will support a graduating senior at Syosset High School who reflects the qualities that Ms. Navaretta exemplified. Donations may be mailed to Sabrina Navaretta Scholarship Fund, 30 Berry Hill Rd., Syosset, NY 11791.

In addition, the Delta Eta chapter of Phi Sigma Sigma sorority at UD has created a scholarship to honor Ms. Navaretta. Donations may be made online.
