Planning is underway for the University of Delaware’s celebrations of the achievements of the Class of 2024, with festivities scheduled from Tuesday, May 21, through Saturday, May 25.

The University-wide Commencement ceremony is scheduled at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, May 25, in Delaware Stadium. President Dennis Assanis will preside over this event, featuring a Commencement speaker to be announced later this spring and the presentation of honorary degrees.

In addition to the main Commencement ceremony, each college will host its own individual Convocation, bringing together its faculty, staff, graduates and families to celebrate and recognize each graduate’s UD experience. Also part of the celebration, special events will spotlight military commissioning, doctoral recipients, Honors graduates, student athletes and the Kente stole ceremony.  Tickets are required for Commencement and all Convocations ceremonies; ticket distribution details will be announced in March. Most ceremonies are also livestreamed.

For students planning to graduate in spring and summer 2024, please ensure that your expected graduation term is correct in UDSIS. The deadline for bachelor degree candidates is April 15, for masters and doctoral candidates, the deadline is Feb. 15. However, if you would like to ensure that you receive communications regarding graduation ceremonies, please do so as soon as possible.
