Connecting UD alumni with students for industry insights
The University of Delaware Career Mentoring Program, in partnership with Mentor Collective, matches junior and senior students with UD alumni in their industry of interest. All UD colleges — with the exception of the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics, which utilizes its own mentoring program — are participating this year.
Mentors listen, inspire, help navigate challenges and recognize opportunities for students. Alumni who sign up to participate in the program receive free training in how to be a mentor.
Students can take advantage of this free mentoring program throughout the academic year, meeting with their mentors as often as they wish — in-person, on Zoom, through phone calls or texts or email. The program serves to connect students with alumni and then leaves the way in which they want to communicate up to them.
Examples of questions that student mentees can ask mentors include how their department and academic programs will impact their professional options, how to balance the demands of professional and personal life and how to make connections with peers and professional contacts.
Registration for mentors and mentees is open now. There is a separate registration website for students and a second website for mentors.
