UD Athletics joins NCAA social media program to promote the value of a welcoming community

Sports has never been immune to negative opinions and actions of some people engaged in or watching the action, but athletic teams often bring together people from disparate backgrounds who collaborate on achieving a goal. One such goal at the University of Delaware is to improve diversity and inclusion, and promote the value to all of creating a welcoming environment throughout the community.

UD’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation is joining an effort led by the National Collegiate Athletic Association and member schools to raise awareness, increase education and show the importance of inclusive environments. A three-day social media campaign will start on Tuesday, Oct. 19, with UD running back Dejoun Lee sharing his thoughts. Follow @UDBlueHens to join the discussion on UD Athletic social media accounts on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
