Provost search forums

Virtual events to seek input from faculty, staff, students

Editor's note: This article was updated Nov. 15, 2021, with the addition of another forum for faculty members on Nov. 30.

Five campus community virtual forums will be held this month at the University of Delaware as the search for the University’s next provost gets underway.

In October, President Dennis Assanis announced the appointment of a Provost Search Advisory Committee to begin the search for a successor to Provost Robin Morgan, who is retiring at the end of the current academic year.

The upcoming forums are designed to give different constituent groups at the University the opportunity to offer perspectives on desired qualifications and qualities the provost should have and their aspirations for the successful candidate’s priorities over the next five years. They also will be able to suggest UD points of pride that they think might be used to promote and attract outstanding candidates to the search.

Forums are scheduled:

  • Monday, Nov. 15, 4-5 p.m., for faculty, register here;
  • Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2:30-3:30 p.m., for students, register here;
  • Thursday, Nov. 18, 1-2 p.m., for staff, register here;
  • Monday, Nov. 22, 4-5 p.m., for the entire UD community, register here; and
  • Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1-2 p.m., for faculty, register here

Those planning to attend must register in advance, using the links above. All are in Zoom webinar format, and attendees must be logged into their UD Zoom accounts to be able to access the forums. The forums will not be recorded.

In addition to the forum, members of the University community are able to share comments and suggestions on the provost search website, which also provides information about the Provost Search Advisory Committee and more.
