CBC presents ‘Borrowing While Black’

Feb. 19 Zoom program will include strategies on borrowing less, earning more

The University of Delaware Center for Black Culture will present a program on “Borrowing While Black” at 4 p.m., Friday, Feb. 19, via Zoom.

Americans collectively owe more than $1.6 trillion in student loan debt. Seemingly every demographic is affected, and many individuals are struggling to repay their share. The result for many Black borrowers is paying more for education without reaping the maximum benefit.

In this program, author and personal finance expert Tisa Silver Canady will explain the realities of the Black student loan experience and ways to overcome debt to build wealth.

Participants will learn keys to borrowing less, how to set themselves up to borrow less often, strategies to increase their odds of graduating, steps to take in order to earn more immediately after graduation and how to steer clear of student loan default.

All attendees will receive a free copy of the book Borrowing While Black.

Those interested in attending should register at bit.ly/CBCFINANCES.
