August 16, 2021
Testing opportunities available Aug. 17, 18, 20
Three COVID-19 testing events are available to the community this week at locations on the University of Delaware Newark campus.
The University’s surveillance testing will be conducted on Wednesday, Aug. 18, from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. in Room 115 Pencader, located adjacent to Clayton Hall. Register online here. UD testing is being conducted every Wednesday at this location. As a reminder, vaccinated students and staff are exempt from the weekly surveillance testing requirement, but they are welcome to be tested if they wish.
In addition, testing will be available at the Conover Apartments parking lot #16, at 97 Amstel Ave., from 11 a.m.-7 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 17. Registration is encouraged at this link.
Walk-up testing is available Friday, Aug. 20, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in Lot #6 on the Laird Campus. Registration is encouraged at this link.
A full list of COVID-19 testing locations can be viewed at Get Tested, Delaware.
In addition, the state of Delaware is now offering free, take-home rapid test kits in most public library locations in Delaware. Go to your nearest public library to obtain a free kit. A library card is not needed to receive a kit. The state also offers free, take-home tests via mail. Individuals can request a free kit and obtain more information at the state’s COVID-19 response website.
As a reminder, the best preventative measure again COVID-19 is to be fully vaccinated. All members of the campus community are encouraged to take advantage of the many opportunities to obtain a COVID-19 vaccine to protect themselves and others in the UD community. To find vaccine locations near you, visit the state of Delaware vaccination site, call 1-800-232-0233 or send a text message to 438829 with your ZIP code in the body of the text message. Additional clinics may be coordinated on campus in the future.
