Create your dream career

DENIN workshop will help participants with skills and tips for career building your career

Are you interested in building a career that is interdisciplinary, trailblazing, and unique? The Delaware Environmental Institute (DENIN) will hold a workshop on Thursday, Nov. 19, to help attendees lay the foundation for career success.

Those attending can learn the skills and secret sauce of how to craft a dream career from three experts who will be featured at this event.

Alaina G. Levine will be the keynote speaker. Levine is an award-winning entrepreneur, STEM career consultant, science journalist, professional speaker, and corporate comedian. Her book, Networking for Nerds (Wiley, 2015), was named a top five book in 2015 by Physics Today. Alaina will focus on “Crafting Your Unicorn Career: How to explore, design, launch, and land your unique career and job.” There will be two other speakers at this event. Amber Ridgeway is UD’s career counselor for students seeking career opportunities within the agriculture and environment sector as well as health and science industries. Ridgeway will share best practices on company-specific resumes and cover letters. Marian Young, a sustainability entrepreneur and founder of BrightFields, Inc., will share her perspective on the entrepreneurial approach to building a dream career.

This event is sponsored by DENIN and DENIN Fellows, with co-funding from the National Science Foundation Coastal Critical Zone Network and the NSF Project WiCCED.
