Locating Winter Session course materials

UD librarians can help faculty identify materials for winter semester
Course materials that are easy to integrate into courses, affordable for students, and available as soon as the semester begins are critical to student and faculty success. Subject librarians at the University of Delaware Library, Museums and Press can help faculty locate materials that fit these criteria and their teaching needs.
Those who teach can work with librarians to identify viable textbook alternatives to what they may currently use in their course. Together, librarians and faculty can explore possibilities for no-cost open textbooks and resources, and find academic e-books within the Library’s collection that can be used as textbooks. If possible, librarians can also coordinate simultaneous access to e-books for multiple students.
Those who teach may also be interested in making physical textbooks or paper copies of instructional materials available through the Library’s electronic course reserves. While faculty may have to consider copyright restrictions during this process, librarians can work with them to arrive at a solution, which may include selecting alternate texts. Physical course reserves will not be available in the 2021 Winter Session.
Those who will be teaching this winter should reach out to their subject librarian by Dec. 1, if they are interested in integrating streaming media, e-books or open educational materials into their courses, or putting materials on electronic course reserve. The earlier faculty reach out, the better the Library can support their online course this winter.
