The University of Delaware's annual Wellness Speaker Series is underway in its new Facebook Live format on Healthy HENS. UD alumna, Summer Bukeavich, kicked off the series on April 22. Her discussion of personal experiences grappling with and overcoming anxiety and a toxic work environment has received 1,141 views, and the videos continue to be available online for interested participants. All speakers are also hosting a live 30-minute Q&A with viewers following their presentations.

Patrick Holbert will take the virtual stage on Thursday, May 7 at 3 p.m. Patrick is a comedian who shares stories from his college years about his experiences with alcoholism and addiction. Patrick chose to regain control of his life and his happiness; today, he celebrates over 10 years of sobriety. From substance misuse to mental health issues and family dysfunction, Patrick aspires to raise awareness and help others address their problems or support a friend or family member struggling with similar issues.

Sadiq Ali will close out the 2020 speaker series discussing building confidence and resilience on May 14, also at 3 p.m. All members of the University of Delaware community are invited to tune in for the series, facilitated by student wellness ambassadors in collaboration with Student Wellness and Health Promotion.
