10 reasons to celebrate spring 2020

School of Music awards scholarships to students

The University of Delaware School of Music awarded scholarships at its last faculty meeting of the academic year, rewarding the success and achievements of outstanding students, and helping them on their educational journey to become the next generation of musical inspirations and innovators.

The 10 scholarships awarded in May 2020 by vote of the UD School of Music faculty are:

- DeMartini Award and Voice Area Award: Salvatore Castronovo, bachelor of music, Class of 2020
- Presser Award, and Music Academic Award: Halina Maas, bachelor of music, Class of 2021
- Presser Scholar for 2020-21, and Brass Area Award: Lorenzo Bedore, bachelor of music, Class of 2021
- Fischer Award for Music Education: Julia McBride, bachelor of music, Class of 2020
- King Award for Piano/Percussion/Guitar: Isaiah Keith, bachelor of music, Class of 2020
- King Award for Woodwinds: Anne Glerum, bachelor of music, Class of 2020
- Mitchell Award for Strings: Jacob Moore, bachelor of music, Class of 2020
- Jefferson Prize: Rachel Schwab, bachelor of music, Class of 2018, master of music, Class of 2021
- Jefferson Prize: Christine Walthers, bachelor of music, Class of 2019, master of music, Class of 2021
- Paroulek Award in Composition: Matthew Greene, bachelor of music, Class of 2020
