Global consultant on diversity to discuss ‘Living and Learning in Challenging Times’ on July 10
Tanya Odom, an internationally known consultant and coach on issues of diversity, equity and inclusion, will lead a webinar from 3-4:30 p.m., Friday, July 10, on “Living and Leading in Challenging Times.”
The webinar, which is designed to be a conversation with Odom and students in the Bill Anderson Fund Flagship at the University of Delaware, will begin with the question: Why this moment? It will discuss such topics as racial trauma, the pandemic, dealing with bias and misunderstanding in institutions, and self-care for Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC).
The event is sponsored by the Bill Anderson Fund Flagship, UD’s Office of the Vice Provost for Diversity and Inclusion, College of Arts and Sciences and the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice.
The William Averette Anderson Fund, known as the Bill Anderson Fund or BAF, offers professional support to graduate students in institutions across the country, with a goal of expanding the number of historically underrepresented professionals in the field of disaster and hazard research and practice. BAF was founded in 2014, and in 2018 it formally designated UD as its flagship site.
