COVID-19 testing set on campus this week

Additional community testing available near Newark

The University of Delaware’s surveillance testing for COVID-19 will be available this week on Monday and Wednesday, Dec. 14 and 16, at both Harker Laboratory on Academy Street and Clayton Hall on the Laird Campus.

On both days, testing for UD students and essential employees will be available at Harker Laboratory from 9 a.m.-noon, and at Clayton Hall from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. A busy week is anticipated and appointments are suggested, although walk-ups are permitted. In addition, community-based testing will continue on the campus this week:

  • Delaware Emergency Management Agency will host a walk-up event from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 15, at the Curative Trailer, at Laird Lot #6, near the Christiana Towers. Walk-ups are permitted, and registration may be completed here.
  • New Castle County will hold tests from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 19, in the north lot of the STAR Campus, with entry off Discovery Boulevard. Drive-ups are permitted, and registration may be completed here.

Other community testing events scheduled in close proximity to the University this week include:

  • Noon-4 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 16: Christiana Care Hospital, Portal 1 Parking, 4755 Ogletown Stanton Rd., Newark, 19718; register at delaware.curativeinc.com.
  • Noon-6 p.., Wednesday, Dec. 16: Kirk Middle School, 140 Brennen Drive, Newark, 19713; register at Kirk Middle School Mako Location (print the page with the bar code and bring it to the testing site).
  • 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Friday, Dec. 18: Delaware Park, 777 Delaware Park Blvd., Wilmington, DE 19804; register at delaware.curative.com.

Testing is available Mondays through Fridays at the Floyd I Hudson State Service Center, 501 Ogletown Rd., Newark, next to the Wawa. Check times on the website. Registration is strongly suggested and appointments are required. Call 302-283-7587.
