Thought leaders to discuss evolving field of biopharmaceuticals
September 05, 2019
Day-long symposium on Sept. 19 is open to the public
The Delaware Biotechnology Institute will host a biopharmaceutical sciences symposium at the University of Delaware STAR Audion on Thursday, Sept. 19, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The symposium brings together academic and industry thought leaders for a full day of talks and panel discussions highlighting current and future directions in biopharmaceutical sciences. The University is working to create new programs that align and evolve with the needs of the broader biopharmaceutical/bioscience community.
The event is free and open to the public. However, seating is limited, and registration is required.
Irene Rombel, senior director and head of strategic analysis at Janssen Pharmaceuticals, Johnson & Johnson, and Gail Wasserman, senior vice president at AstraZeneca, will deliver invited keynote talks.
Rombel will discuss ways to prepare students for success and fulfillment in the life science industry. Wasserman will focus on emerging technologies in converting molecules into medicines. A fireside chat will follow, moderated by UD Provost Robin Morgan.
Other planned sessions will cover topics ranging from biopharmaceutical manufacturing to academic-industry collaboration, engineered cell therapies and more.
