Section of Academy Street closed Oct. 11-12

City water main project will close street from Lovett Avenue to Courtney Street

Academy Street from Lovett Avenue to Courtney Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from 7 a.m.-7 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Oct. 11-12, while the city makes repairs to the water main and water service connections in that area.

Detour signs will be posted, and motorists should expect delays. (See detour route at left.) Entry to the Perkins Parking Garage from Academy Street will be permitted.

Temporary water service disruptions are expected in the affected area between Lovett Avenue and Courtney Street from 7 a.m.-7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12. A boil water advisory will be in effect immediately after service is restored. Water fountains in campus buildings in this area will not be in service during this time.

The Scrounge and Dunkin’ in Perkins Student Center will be closed Saturday, Oct. 12, through Wednesday, Oct. 16, due to the water outage. They will reopen with their standard fall hours on Thursday, Oct. 17, which can be viewed online by visiting www.udel.edu/dining.
