Jason Aviles is the Social Entrepreneur in Residence for the spring semester at UD.

Social Entrepreneur in Residence

Jason Aviles will provide guidance on starting socially-conscious organizations.

The Social Entrepreneur in Residence (SEIR) program in the University of Delaware's Department of Human Development and Family Sciences brings local social entrepreneurs to the campus community to provide guidance to students, staff and faculty who are interested in launching a company or non-profit to develop, fund and implement solutions to social, cultural or environmental issues.

During the spring semester of 2019, SEIR welcomes Jason Aviles who holds the titles of CEO of Flyogi, LLC, executive director of Wilmington Placemakers Inc., project director of Wilmington Green Box and co-founder of Artist Ave Station in Wilmington’s Creative District. Aviles was named one of Delaware’s “Top 40 under 40” achievers and innovators by Delaware Business Times. Through Flyogi, Aviles and his team of Yoga instructors bring yoga to schools, corporate environments and communities. His work with Wilmington Placemakers Inc., has led him to lead several social impact ventures, including Wilmington Green Box (WGB), which provides at-risk teens with entrepreneurial jobs while supplying urban communities with access to cold pressed juices, fresh produce and healthy goods.

As part of the SEIR program, Aviles is scheduled to hold office hours on Wednesdays from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Venture Development Center (132 E. Delaware Avenue). Individuals or small groups can schedule 30-to-60 minute time blocks with Aviles per week. Learn more about social entrepreneurship at Aviles’ SEIR presentation on April 10, 2019 from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m.
