Colleagues are invited to join the University of Delaware's Division of Student Life in celebrating initiatives, service, and partnerships that have recently enhanced the UD student experience. The final award winners of 2018 were recognized during the division’s October business meeting.

The Bright Initiative Award showcased five innovations that directly benefited students:

- Bringing in the Bystander training implemented by Student Wellness and Health Promotion, in collaboration with Fraternity and Sorority Leadership and Learning and in partnership with the Office of Equity and Inclusion and Athletics.

- Recast, Rethink, Revue: A Musical About Gender and Sexuality facilitated by Bridget DuBrey within Residence Life and Housing.

- International Student Sexual Violence Prevention Program created by Student Wellness and Health Promotion in partnership with the Office of International Students and Scholars.

- LGBTQ+ and Racial Justice Activism Living-Learning Community Mural Project conceived by Residence Life and Housing in partnership with the College of Arts and Sciences and the department of Women and Gender Studies.

- Pop Up Garden implemented by University Student Centers in partnership with the departments of Plant and Soil Science and Theater.

Adam Helgeson, Nicole Long, Lisa Sweder, Tierra Fields, Aimée Giannetta, and Amne Harrington each won an Outstanding Service Award. The division’s highest honor celebrates employees who demonstrate consistent commitment to exemplary work, collaboration, and dedication to the goals and values of Student Life.

The UD Police Department received the inaugural True Blue Partner Award winner, in recognition of staff or units outside of the division whose partnership further facilitates inclusive communities that prioritize personal and social responsibility.
