Clinics on the University of Delaware campus are ready for flu season. The STAR Health Nurse Managed Primary Care Center has flu shots available for faculty, staff and the general public. Student Health Services (SHS) is accepting appointments for students.

The Nurse Managed Primary Care Center is offering flu shots by appointment at the following days and times:

• Sept. 28, from 1 to 4 p.m.

• Oct. 3, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

• Oct. 5, from 11 to 3 p.m.

• Oct. 11, from 4 to 7 p.m.

• Oct. 13, from 8 to 11 a.m.

• Oct. 19, from 12 to 3 p.m.

• Oct. 24, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

• Oct. 26, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

• Nov. 1, from 4 to 7 p.m.

• Nov. 8, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Individuals should call 302-831-3195 and schedule an appointment.

The center is located in the STAR Health Sciences Complex (540 South College Ave). Individuals are asked to please bring their insurance card.

UD employees are encouraged to use their employee health insurance benefits to cover the cost of the immunization. Many insurance plans will cover the full cost of the vaccine. Individuals will be billed for any uncovered portion of the vaccine. Individuals with an HMO plan may be required to pay a copay unless they receive the vaccine from their designated primary care provider.

Students

Student Health Services (SHS) is offering flu vaccination clinics for students every Friday during October and November by appointment only; appointments can be made by visiting the Student Health website.

Students who cannot make it to these clinics can schedule an appointment by calling Student Health at 302-831-2226 (option 1). Forms can be completed in advance online.

The cost of the vaccine is $22. Students with the University of Delaware Student Insurance Plan will have the charge billed directly to Highmark. Students without the University of Delaware Student Insurance Plan will have the charge billed to the student account and will be offered an itemized bill to submit to their insurance plan. Student Health Service may also submit billing to most Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna plans.

SHS is located in Laurel Hall, at the south end of the Green.
