Nov. 28: Healthcare policy discussion

“Making Sense of Healthcare Policy,” with Rita Landgraf and Chris Jennings
Confused, cranky or confounded by the news and debate about healthcare policy, and what it means for individuals and the nation? Rita Landgraf and Chris Jennings will discuss the future of healthcare policy and its political importance on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at the University of Delaware’s STAR Health Sciences Complex.
The discussion is titled, “Making Sense of Healthcare Policy,” and will run from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., in the atrium of the STAR Health Sciences Complex. Light refreshments will be served from 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Attendees can participate in the conversation to gain a better understanding about healthcare policy and its implications for all people. Please register in advance. The event is co-sponsored by the College of Health Sciences (CHS) and the Biden Institute.
About the speakers
Rita Landgraf is professor of practice and Distinguished Health and Social Services Administrator in residence in CHS and serves as director of the recently launched UD Partnership for Healthy Communities. She previously served as secretary of the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) from 2009 to 2017.
Chris Jennings has spent more than three decades working for health policy organizations. He served President Obama as deputy assistant to the president for health policy and coordinator of health reform. He served in a similar capacity in the Clinton White House for nearly eight years. Jennings is founder and president of Jennings Policy Strategies, a healthcare consulting firm.
