A free information session introducing fall 2017 professional development programs to prospective students will be held from 6-8:30 p.m., Thursday, July 20, at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington.

Hosted by the University of Delaware’s Division of Professional and Continuing Studies (PCS), the information session provides high-level program overviews and gives prospective students ample opportunities to network with faculty and program graduates so they can ask questions and learn more about the programs.

Individual networking with instructors, as well as remarks by recent program graduates, are highlights of the information session. Last semester, certificate program graduate Tracy Ganjoin related her experiences in the Analytics: Optimizing Big Data program and its relevance in her successful job search.

Addressing in-demand business-, health care- and fitness-focused topics, skills, certifications and credentials, fall 2017 programs from UD PCS include:

• Advanced Telehealth Coordinator Certificate (online);

• Analytics: Optimizing Big Data Certificate;

• Business Process Improvement for Project Managers;

• Branding You: Defining Your Pathway to Success;

• Clinical Trials Management Certificate (online);

• Essentials of Clinical Sleep Health and Education (online);

• Healthcare Risk Management (online);

• Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) Professional in Human Resources (PHR)/Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) Exam Prep;

• ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management;

• Paralegal Certificate;

• Personal Fitness Trainer;

• Population Health Informatics for Healthcare Leaders; and

• Project Management Certificate.

Planned with the needs of working professionals in mind, refreshments will be served. Following a certificate program overview and remarks from recent program graduates, participants can choose to attend program-specific breakout sessions.

Additionally, virtual information sessions are scheduled for July 25 or July 26 for several online health care-related programs, including Essentials of Clinical Sleep Health and Education, Clinical Trials Management, Health Care Risk Management and Advanced Telehealth Coordinator.

Professional development programs from UD PCS are scheduled to suit working professionals’ schedules, and most can be completed in about three months. Face-to-face classes meet at UD’s Arsht Hall in Wilmington or on UD’s main campus in Newark. Some classes include virtual online class meetings to supplement classroom sessions, and some classes are offered totally online.

Anyone who registers and pays in full for a program at or before the information session will receive a 10 percent discount. Other program-specific scholarships and discounts may be available, including military discounts, group discounts, and various professional association discounts.

All information sessions are free, but reservations are requested. For more information about PCS programs, or to RSVP, call 302-831-7600, visit the website or email PCS at continuing-ed@udel.edu.
