UD alum Nick Boyle of Baltimore Ravens to speak at Colonial Athletic Association football media day

University of Delaware football will be well-represented when the Colonial Athletic Association kicks off the 2017 season with the conference's annual Media Day on Tuesday, July 25, from M&T Bank Stadium, home to the National Football League's Baltimore Ravens.

Providing the keynote address will be Nick Boyle, a former Blue Hen All-American who is currently in his third year as a member of the Ravens. Boyle was a four-year standout at tight end for the Blue Hens from 2011-14 and served as a co-captain as a senior when he caught 37 passes for 304 yards and four touchdowns to earn second team All-America honors. A two-time All-CAA performer, he caught 101 passes for 984 yards and 12 touchdowns in 41 career games.

Boyle was selected by Baltimore in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. In 17 career games with the Ravens, he has caught 24 passes for 197 yards. He begins pre-season camp on July 27 at Owings Mills, Maryland, and will be a strong contender for a starting spot. He is one of seven former Delaware players currently active in the NFL.

All 12 CAA football head coaches, including first-year UD head coach Danny Rocco, and two student-athletes from each school, led by Delaware senior linebacker Charles Bell and senior center Brody Kern,  will be in attendance to meet with members of the media and participate in a variety of activities. Chrissy Rawak, UD director of athletics and recreation services, will also attend the event.

Coverage of the event is headlined by Media Day Live, a two-hour show hosted by Bobby Broyles and the voice of Delaware football Scott Klatzkin, and can be seen live on the CAA Football Facebook page at 10 a.m.

Media Day gets underway at 9 a.m. with opening remarks by CAA Commissioner Joe D'Antonio and the announcement of the preseason all-conference team and predicted order of finish. The opening program, including Boyle's address to the group, can be also be seen on Facebook Live.

There will be extensive coverage of CAA Football Media Day through the University of Delaware Athletics Twitter (@UDBlueHens, hashtag #BlueHens), Facebook (www.facebook.com/DelawareBlueHens), Instagram (@UDBlueHens), and Snapchat (@UDBlueHens) accounts.
