The winter break at the University of Delaware begins for students with the end of exams on Saturday, Dec. 16. During the break, campus facilities will also have adjusted schedules.

University residence halls will close at 10 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16. The last meal in the dining halls varies by location. Last meals will be dinner at Russell Residential Dining on Tuesday, Dec. 12, breakfast at Pencader Residential Dining and dinner at Caesar Rodney Fresh Food Company on Saturday, Dec. 16.

For students attending classes during Winter Session, residence halls will reopen for check-in from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 2. The first meal will be dinner at Russell Residential Dining on Tuesday, Jan. 2. Pencader Residential Dining will reopen for breakfast on Wednesday, Jan. 3.

Winter session classes resume on Wednesday, Jan. 3.

University offices generally will be closed from Saturday, Dec. 23, through Monday, Jan. 1, reopening on Tuesday, Jan. 2.

Morris Library will be open until 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16, and will be closed Sunday, Dec. 17.

UD Ice Arenas

UD Ice Arenas will hold holiday skating sessions at the Fred Rust Ice Arena from Dec. 22 to Jan. 1. The arena will be closed for Christmas day. Holiday skating session are as follows:

Parking Services

Parking Services will close at 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 22, for the holiday break. All online services will be available. The office will reopen at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 2.

Transportation Services Shuttle

Starting Wednesday, Jan. 3, the Winter Session Shuttle Bus Schedule will consist of all Day routes operating on a regular schedule Monday-Friday. North/South College Avenue will run every 7-10 minutes from 7 a.m. to  7 p.m. and once every 30 minutes until 11:23 p.m.

Evening Routes will operate according to a regular schedule. Late Bird bus will operate on a 70-minute loop seven days a week ending at 1:55 a.m., with a return-only stop at Perkins Student Center. Weekend Routes will operate Saturday and Sunday on a regular schedule.

On Saturday, Feb. 3, (Exam Day), all weekday routes will operate according to a regular schedule. North/South College Avenue will run every 15 minutes 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and every 30 minutes until 11:23 p.m. Weekend Routes will not operate. Evening Routes and Late Bird will operate according to a regular schedule ending at 1:55 a.m., with a return-only stop at Perkins Student Center.

Recreation

The Carpenter Sports Building (Little Bob) facility will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., on Monday, Dec. 11 through Friday Dec. 15. On Saturday, Dec. 16, the gym will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. During finals week, the gym is offering free group fitness classes and UD CrossFit classes.

Sunday, Dec. 17: closed.

The week of Monday, Dec. 18, the gym will be open from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. On Saturday, Dec. 22, the gym’s hours are 6 a.m.-1 p.m. The gym will be closed starting Monday, Dec. 23 - Monday, Jan. 1.

Winter session hours begin Tuesday, Jan. 2  and run through Friday, Feb. 5.

• Mondays - Thursdays: 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

• Fridays: 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

• Saturdays and Sundays: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Student Health Services

Student Health Services is open 24 hours until Saturday, Dec. 16, at 10 p.m. The office will be closed Sunday, Dec. 17.

During the week of Dec. 18-22, it will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

From 5 p.m. on Dec. 22 until 8 a.m. Jan 2, Student Health Services will be closed.  

Twenty-four-hour/seven-day availability resumes at 8 a.m., Monday, Jan. 2.

UDairy Creamery

UDairy’s Newark location will be open Saturday, Dec. 23 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. UDairy will be closed from Sunday, Dec. 24 through Monday, Jan. 1. Regular hours will resume at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 2.

UDairy’s Wilmington location will be closed Sunday, Dec. 24 and Monday, Dec. 25. From Tuesday, Dec. 26 through Friday, Dec. 29, the store will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. On Saturday Dec. 30 and Sunday, Dec. 3,1 the store hours will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The shop will be closed New Year’s Day and resumes regular hours on Tuesday, Jan. 2.
