Library user survey

UD Library asks students, faculty, staff and users to participate in brief survey

The University of Delaware Library asks all UD students, faculty, staff and users to participate in an important brief library survey beginning this month.

The survey will be implemented during a randomly selected two-hour period, one day per month for the next year. Completion normally takes no more two minutes. All responses are anonymous.

The survey will appear online during these survey periods, once during each survey period, when a library electronic journal, database or digital resource is accessed. If multiple web browsers are used the survey will appear once per browser during the survey period.

As soon as the survey is submitted, people will be able to access the online resource they selected. The print version of the same survey will be distributed during these same two hour periods to all those entering the library. All entering users will be asked to complete this short print survey and deposit the survey whenever they leave the library, even if an online survey has been completed.

The survey is part of the library’s commitment to supporting teaching, learning and research among faculty, students and staff.

This survey is also necessary to meet federal reporting requirements for cost analysis for University funding. For these reasons it is very important to the University that all users complete the online and print versions of the survey each time requested.

The survey instrument was submitted to the University of Delaware Institutional Review Board, which classified the survey as “exempt” from review. All responses are anonymous. An outside consulting firm will compile the anonymous responses for the University.
