Library offers ‘Introduction to Film and Video Collection’ workshop

For those who are teaching this semester and want to know the most seamless and copyright-conscious ways to integrate media into their classes, the University of Delaware Library is offering a workshop titled “Introduction to Film and Video Collection.”

The workshop will provide an overview of film and video resources and services available at the University Library Film and Video Collection. Those who plan to attend should note that this session does not cover production resources available at the Student Multimedia Design Center.

The following questions will be addressed: How can more media be incorporated into teaching? What films and videos are available for class viewing? What kinds of streaming media resources can be accessed through the library? How can videos be checked out and scheduled for future use in class?

“Introduction to Film and Video Collection” will be offered from 10-11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 8, and from 2-3 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 13, in the Film and Video Viewing Room on the lower level of the Morris Library. The presenter will be Meghann Matwichuk, associate librarian, Multimedia Collections and Services Department. Those who have interest but cannot make the dates or times offered can email mtwchk@udel.edu to arrange for an individual consultation.

The workshop is available at no charge and is open to UD faculty members and graduate students. Seating is limited and registration is required. For a complete listing of workshops and to register online, go to this website.

All visitors to the Morris Library need to have photo identification to enter the building, e.g., a UD ONEcard, a U.S. driver’s license or a government-issued or school-issued photo ID. Frequent visitors to the Morris Library, who are 18 years of age or older and who do not have a ONEcard, may visit the Circulation and Reserve desk to register and have their photo taken for a free Library Frequent Visitor card. Once received, this ID can then be used with the card reader at the turnstiles for easy access to the building.

Call 302-831-2432 or email lib-workshops@udel.edu with questions regarding the workshops.
