Resources for Faculty, Staff, Family and Friends
Those who have regular interactions with individual students, such as faculty, staff, family or friends, are often the first to see concerning behavior and can be an important advocate in their support network. Here, we offer resources to help you better understand your role and what to do in the event of an emergency.
What to Do in an Emergency
In emergency situations where students are unwilling or unable to seek help on their own, contact any of these resources.
- Police and/or Ambulance: 911
- The Suicide and Crisis Lifeline: 988
- Center for Counseling and Student Development (available Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m.): 302-831-WELL
- TimelyCare: Talk Now – 24/7 mental health support via telehealth
Resources for Faculty and Staff
Faculty and staff are a vital component of how we identify and support students struggling with mental health concerns. CCSD offers consultation while you help a student navigate their mental health needs.
We also encourage you to report concerning behaviors to the Student Behavioral Consultation Team.
Residence Life Staff
Resident Assistants (RAs), Residence Hall Coordinators (RHCs) and other Residence Life & Housing staff can submit the Consultation Request form to discuss concerns about a student with CCSD.
Resources for Parents, Family and Friends
The adjustment to college is equal parts exciting, joyful, nerve-wracking and confusing for both students and their families. CCSD is here to help!
We invite you to learn about our services throughout this website and welcome you to call with your questions and concerns about your student or CCSD services.
