Therapy Approach
My therapy approach is integrative and based in humanist, multicultural and feminist theories. I strive to create an open, collaborative, therapeutic space where clients can feel safe and empowered to develop what they need to be their authentic selves and address their goals. I pull from mindfulness, trauma-responsive care, somatic work and strengths-based approaches to work toward client goals.
Supervision Approach
My supervision approach is rooted in developmental, feminist, multicultural and discrimination models. In supervision, my goals include meeting supervisees where they are at from a developmental perspective and supporting them to think critically about their experiences as a clinician at both the individual and systems-levels. To work towards these goals, some supervision techniques I use include authenticity, transparency around processes and expectations; decentering of power through choice; feedback opportunities; the valuing of multiple perspectives, and incorporation of exploration that supports cultural- and systems-level change.
