EXPLORE THE MIND, BRAIN AND BEHAVIOR
Psychology is the scientific study of the mind, brain and behavior. At UD, you will learn how to investigate human and animal behavior, evaluate evidence and apply psychological science to real-world questions. Because psychology connects with fields such as medicine, engineering and law, the major builds transferable skills in research, data analysis, critical thinking and communication. You can see that work in action through UD’s Institute for Community Mental Health, where faculty connect research, clinical services and community needs.

What’s special about this program?
Research is a major part of studying psychology at UD—and you can get involved as an undergraduate. Join faculty-led labs exploring behavioral neuroscience, clinical science, cognition and social psychology. You may work alongside faculty and graduate students, earn academic credit for research or complete a senior thesis. Students also have access to advanced resources such as UD’s Center for Biomedical and Brain Imaging, home to Delaware’s first research fMRI scanner.
You can also explore how psychology makes a difference beyond the lab. Through the Center for Training, Evaluation, and Community Collaboration, faculty partner with community agencies to strengthen evidence-based mental health practices. The center helps undergraduate and graduate students build experience in real-world mental health settings.
