Mental Health Impacts of COVID Response

March 01, 2021 Written by Lauren Camphausen

A team of epidemiologists from Delaware, Tennessee and Texas were recently awarded funding from the University of Colorado’s Natural Hazards Centers Quick Response Program to study the impact of the response to COVID-19 on burnout in the public health workforce. The Quick Response Research Award Program, supported by the National Science Foundation, provides support for researchers to collect perishable data to document the impacts of disasters. The team recently presented on the study during the NIEHS Disaster Research Response Environmental Health Sciences Network symposium series. Epidemiology program director, Dr. Jennifer Horney, served as moderator of the panel session.
