Summer programs help high school students explore majors and prepare for college

The University of Delaware’s Division of Professional and Continuing Studies (UD PCS) will host a virtual information session March 3 at 7 p.m. to introduce its 2026 Pre-College Summer Programs for high school students.

The session will provide an overview of UD’s weeklong summer programs designed to give students hands on, college-level experience in dynamic academic fields. Programs include:

  • Forensic Science — Participants explore the basics of forensic analysis, work with experts in UD’s medical and molecular sciences labs, and visit crime labs and crime scene investigation units.
  • Autonomous Driving Academy — Students assemble and program autonomous robots while developing programming skills in Python, C++ and ROS through UD’s Connected and Autonomous Research (CAR) Lab.
  • Podcasting — This program guides students in narrative structure, audio production and audience engagement through a hands on, weeklong creative experience offered in collaboration with UD’s Department of English.
  • Neuroscience — Offered in collaboration with UD’s interdisciplinary neuroscience program, this course is designed for motivated high school students and provides hands on lab exploration, cutting edge neuroimaging experiences and a capstone research project — building both scientific skills and college ready confidence.

High school students and families interested in gaining early exposure to college-level academics, exploring potential majors and strengthening future college applications are encouraged to attend. The session will include program details, schedules and opportunities for live Q&A.

Registration for the free virtual event is open now. Learn more and register at https://www.pcs.udel.edu/summer-pre-college.
