13th Annual Banned Books Read Out

UD's Library, Museums and Press, along with Department of English, presents Banned Books Week programming

The University of Delaware's Library, Museums and Press have partnered with the Department of English to host several table events during national Banned Book Week (Oct. 6-10).

UD's 13th annual Read-Out event on Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., is free and open to the public and allows readers an opportunity to share a five-minute excerpt from a banned or challenged book of their choice, or select one from our collection on hand. Walk-up readers are welcome, but advance sign-ups are encouraged and will receive priority. Drop in anytime to listen, participate and celebrate the freedom to read. Giveaways and book raffles will be available.

All are also stop by the “Dear Banned Author” table to participate in a letter writing campaign. We will provide supplies for you to write a postcard of support to an author of your favorite banned book or a legislator of your choice.
