UD Financial Planning Center Open for Appointments

Center offers free financial advising and experiential learning for students, faculty and staff

The UD Financial Planning Center is open to provide personalized and functional financial coaching to University of Delaware students, faculty and staff at no cost. The center was established with support from the Charles Schwab Foundation and is operated by staff and students from the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics. Its goal is to empower members of the UD community to make confident financial decisions while offering hands-on learning opportunities for the next generation of financial planners.

The center offers peer-to-peer coaching for UD students, where students can meet with seniors in the financial planning major to review student loan repayment strategies and navigate job offer benefits such as purchasing insurance, investing in a 401(k), and other key financial decisions as students prepare for life after graduation.

The center additionally offers one-on-one professional coaching to UD employees, where they can meet with a senior in the financial planning major and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERâ„¢ professional to discuss retirement planning, investing and tax planning. These sessions serve as live learning labs for financial planning students, who will observe them to gain real-world experience.

The center is located on the 4th floor of FinTech Innovation Hub on STAR Campus and offers both in-person and virtual meeting options for both students and faculty.
