Form to Faces, the UD Tech Fair Gets a Rebrand
December 10, 2025
UD’s Tech Open House invites campus to rediscover the people and ideas that make innovation human.
Somewhere along the way, our world got very good at making things easy but not always at making them human. We click, scroll, and automate. We trade greetings for calendar invites, and technology becomes so seamless we hardly notice what’s missing.
This March, Sam Daniel has a vision to change that.
Daniel, Associate Director of Client Services in UDIT, is leading a cross-campus team to reimagine the former UD Tech Fair as the Tech Open House—an experience where people, not products, take center stage.
“The theme is From Forms to Faces,” Daniel explains. “This isn’t about collecting brochures or seeing tools you’ll never use again. It’s about meeting the people behind the work, exploring ideas together, and getting hands-on with technology that fuels creativity and collaboration—especially in spaces like ‘AI Alley,’ one of several interactive zones.”
Daniel will be available to discuss potential AI use cases with faculty and staff and help complete project request forms on the spot, alongside colleagues from the First State AI Institute and Project Management Office.
The planning committee is currently seeking participants to bring the Open House to life. Faculty, graduate students, staff, and vendors are invited to propose interactive booths, poster sessions, or micro-talks celebrating human-centered technology. Applications are due December 31, 2025, and are available at this link.
Open to faculty, staff, students, and vendors, the Tech Open House takes place March 10, 2026, at the Trabant Multipurpose Rooms. Designed less like a fair and more like a story, the event invites visitors to move from discovery to experimentation to conversation, guided by the people who make our campus work better together.
From Forms to Faces isn’t just a theme. It’s an invitation.
