Cheryl's Southern Style Cuisine joins Local Restaurant Row in Perkins Student Center
The University of Delaware's Dining Services is excited to welcome the newest partner, Cheryl’s Southern Style Cuisine, to Local Restaurant Row located in Perkins Student Center. Local restaurants are the cornerstone of the community and Dining Services partners with local culinarians to bring authentic, local flavors to campus. Cheryl's Southern Style Cuisine will be featuring delicious soul food at Local Restaurant Row until the end of the spring semester.
Cheryl Stevens is the chef and founder of Cheryl’s Southern Style Cuisine and a proud parent of a Blue Hen alum. Cheryl retired from her corporate role after hearing a message from her pastor and decided to share 50-plus-year-old family recipes with the local community to enjoy. Her passion for cooking comes from spending countless hours with her grandmother and mother cooking meals for friends and family. Working alongside her daughters Nichelle, Natalie and son-in-law Robert, Chef Cheryl caters her delicious dishes throughout the region. She has a line of frozen foods and is often at Artisan Exchange in West Chester, Pennsylvania, along with other specialty farmers markets. She has also held a concession stand at the Philadelphia Union Soccer Stadium and operated a restaurant in Chester, Pennsylvania until 2014.
Cheryl’s Southern Style Cuisine menu features Cheryl’s Famous Fried Chicken, Brisket Sandwiches, Pulled Pork Sandwiches and Loaded Chili. There will also be sides such as Creamy Mac and Cheese, Collard Greens and Sweet Candied Yams. Her delicious food options can be ordered through Grubhub in the app or the in-person kiosk at Perkins Student Center. Cheryl’s will be available Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
