Call for Proposals: Open Educational Resources (OER) Grants

Applications from UD faculty accepted now through May 6

The UD Library, Museums and Press and the Center for Teaching and Learning are accepting proposals for its 2020 open educational resources (OER) grants.

UD faculty members, individually or in groups, who are interested in addressing the rising cost of course materials by using open textbooks and open educational resources are encouraged to apply.

This includes those who want to transition a course from a commercial textbook to an OER textbook that maintains high quality education and is more affordable for students. Faculty members who aim to remix an existing open textbook in order to improve the text’s suitability to a UD course are likewise welcome to apply.

Successful proposals will emphasize the link between effective teaching practices and the use of open or affordable resources, describe anticipated savings for students, and provide evidence of departmental support.

Those interested in reviewing open textbooks for possible adoption are encouraged to view the Library’s Open Textbook Guide. For additional guidance, please request a consultation. Funding is available to support up to two proposals. The deadline for OER grant submissions has been extended and is now Wednesday, May 6, 2020.
