Campus Connect Gatekeeper Training on Oct. 11
The Center for Counseling and Student Development is hosting an exclusive suicide prevention training for University of Delaware faculty, staff and graduate students on Friday, Oct. 11 (Blue Hen Re-Coop Day).
The Campus Connect Gatekeeper Training is scheduled for 1-4 p.m. in room 202 of the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering (ISE) Lab. The training is available at no cost to all faculty, staff and graduate students; however, advance registration is requested.
Throughout this session, participants will learn to recognize various signs of student distress and signals of suicidality. Interactive sessions and case scenarios will enable attendees to familiarize themselves with de-escalation techniques and to build confidence in holding conversations with students about their concerns.
Online registration is open for this event until Oct. 10. Any questions about the training may be directed to Vanessa Freeman at vfreeman@udel.edu or 302-831-2141.
