HensWEAR seeks to create smart wearables for athletics and rehabilitation

The HensWEAR team at the University of Delaware is soliciting proposals for pilot projects as part of an initiative to engineer smart wearables for athletics and rehabilitation.

HensWEAR seeks to establish a core group of researchers and partners to create innovative functional garments and related materials to enhance mobility.

Up to $25,000 per year may be requested for accepted projects. The research group is especially interested in projects that promote mobility, enhance performance and provide protection.

Leaders of pilot projects must be eligible to serve as principal investigator or co-principal investigator on sponsored projects. Collaborations across campus and with local industry are encouraged.

Pilot proposals should be submitted electronically by March 1.

Contact Dr. Jill Higginson for additional information.
