UD launches new hiring system, Talent Link

The University of Delaware Office of Human Resources launched on Monday, April 1 a new talent acquisition system called UD Talent Link. The suite of tools is designed to streamline and simplify the entire recruitment lifecycle while helping the University better attract candidates and meet its institutional objectives.

Wayne Guthrie, vice president for human resources, said, “UD Talent Link will be a vast improvement to the recruitment process overall, cutting down on time and costs, while providing powerful analytics and reporting tools that we’ve never had before. In addition, Talent Link will provide an engaging applicant experience and showcase UD as an employer of choice.”

Jared Aupperle, director of talent solutions, said that Talent Link’s most exciting features are its automated status reports and interactive assessment tools that will help ensure searches stay on track and maintain strong candidate pools.

“Hiring managers will now be able to see, in real time, the status of any searches underway, along with applicant data, all in one place,” said Aupperle. “Reports will provide valuable insights and trends, so that leaders can align resources and more effectively meet their hiring goals.”

The system is powered by PageUp, a cloud-based talent management platform that specializes in recruiting solutions for higher education institutions. Other universities that have implemented PageUp include the University of Oregon, Kansas State University, University of Alabama, University of Florida and Michigan State University.

Additional Talent Link features include:

  • A convenient dashboard that provides updates on open jobs, searches in progress and pending approvals.

  • Connections to networking tools and job boards like LinkedIn, Indeed and others, to broaden the prospect pool and make it easy for candidates to apply.

  • Message scheduling tools and templates that make it simple to communicate status updates to candidates during the search.

  • Tailored questions on applications to help search committees more effectively manage candidate pools.

  • A mobile-optimized, end-to-end candidate experience.
