Peer Mentor applications open

First Year Seminar program accepting applications for Peer Mentors

The University of Delaware First Year Seminar program is seeking Peer Mentors for fall 2019.

Peer Mentors are upper-class students who serve as resources and role models for first-year students.

To be Peer Mentors, students must have cumulative grade point averages of at least 2.8 and be involved in several organizations around campus.

Peer Mentors serve as student liaisons for new first-year students, build a sense of academic community among a small group of first-year students, and serve as resources for first-year students with questions or concerns.

All Peer Mentors are required to take a one-credit UNIV 301 class that meets during the second half of the spring semester. Students must be able to attend this class to participate in the program.

Peer Mentors receive compensation for their work.

There will be an interest meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 3rd from 6-7 p.m., in Gore 223.

The application deadline is Friday, Oct. 12th at noon.
