April 11: Peking Opera Performing Artist to Visit

UD welcomes Feihong Song for Confucius Institute's annual China Forum Lecture Series
On Wednesday, April 11, the University of Delaware Confucius Institute (UDCI) will launch its annual China Forum Lecture Series with a lecture by Feihong Song, a renowned Peking Opera performing artist. The lecture, entitled “Glamour of Peking Opera,” will be held at 4:30 p.m. in room 005 of Kirkbride Hall.
Song is the daughter of Peking Opera artist, Song Baoluo, and started her formal Peking Opera training, as well as studying calligraphy, seal-carving and musical instruments from a very young age. Song immigrated to the U.S. in 1988 and, has since had a career as an accomplished entrepreneur and businesswoman. In recent years, she has actively promoted Peking Opera through a variety of exhibitions, lectures and performances in the region and is frequently invited to perform Peking Opera across the nation.
This lecture is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served before the event.
