UD Opera Theatre to present ‘The Gift of the Magi' and 'Speed Dating Tonight’
University of Delaware Opera Theatre OPERA:NOW will present two one-act contemporary chamber operas -- David Conte’s The Gift of the Magi and Michael Ching’s Speed Dating Tonight! -- at 3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 12, at Loudis Recital Hall in the Amy E. du Pont Music Building on the University's Newark campus.
The performance, accompanied by the UD Chamber Orchestra led by James Allen Anderson, features two new “Delaware Dates” scenes written especially for UDOT.

At 2:15 p.m., a Round Table Discussion with Speed Dating Tonight! composer Michael Ching will precede the performance.
Tickets -- at $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and UD staff and alumni and $5 for students -- will be sold at the door only; cash or check accepted.

About UD Opera Theatre
UD Opera Theatre (UDOT), an opera company for today, training the artists of tomorrow, is the resident, student opera company of UD’s Department of Music. Its mission is to offer its student participants and devoted patrons a unique opportunity to truly encounter and experience the power and magic of music written for the stage.
