Field set for NCAA men's lacrosse quarterfinals Sunday at Delaware Stadium
The field has been set for the 2017 NCAA Division I men's lacrosse quarterfinalsto be held Sunday, May 21, at the University of Delaware's Delaware Stadium.
Colonial Athletic Association champion Towson (10-4) upended No. 7 seed Penn State 12-8 and No. 8 seed Albany (14-2) got past defending national champion North Carolina by a 15-12 margin on Saturday. Tournament No. 1 seed Maryland (12-3) advanced with a 13-10 win over Bryant and No. 2 seed Syracuse (12-2) edged Yale 11-10 on Sunday.
This Sunday's matchups at Delaware Stadium will feature Maryland taking on Albany at noon followed by Towson against Syracuse at 2:30 p.m. The four winners will advance to the NCAA championships May 27-29 at Gillette Stadium in the Boston area.
Tickets to Sunday's quarterfinal games at Delaware Stadium range from $10-30 and can be purchased online at BlueHens.com or on-site beginning at 10 a.m. on Sunday. Group tickets are also available for as low as $5. Both games will be televised live on ESPN2.
Delaware Stadium is serving as the host site for the NCAA tournament for the fourth time as UD hosted the national championship game in 1984, the first-ever Final Four format with the semifinals and finals in 1986, two first round games in 2002, and two NCAA quarterfinal games in 2014. The venue seats 22,000 and features a FieldTurf playing surface.
