University of Delaware Parking Services will be expanding current programs this fall.

The Roselle Center for the Arts parking garage will follow the Perkins Student Center garage and change to a gateless location with eight pre-pay self-service kiosks.

Hourly customers will pay upon arrival at one of the eight kiosks using their license plate instead of paying in the lobby when leaving. 

Parking for permit holders in the garage will not change, except they will no longer need to swipe or tap their UDOne card.

Event staffing will not change and may be requested via the event form found online.

In addition to the Roselle Center for the Arts garage going gateless, changes include:

• The Visitors Center lot on South College Avenue will change to a gateless location with two pre-pay self-service kiosks. Hourly customers will pay one of the two kiosks upon arrival using their license plate instead of paying when leaving. Customer service attendants will still be located at the lot Monday-Friday, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. or as needed for events.

• Citation late fees will increase from $15 to $17. The last price increase was in February 2012.

• Meter rates will change slightly to promote short-term parking. The rate for the first hour will not change followed by minimal increases for hours two through four.

• “Lacks valid permit” citation waive procedures will change. Historically, one lacks valid citation would be waived per year per person. The procedure will change to one per person with no time limit. Once a parker has been informed that a parking permit is required, they are expected to follow the regulations.

• Event rates are increasing for perimeter and surface lot parking areas.

Parking Services also has announced 2017-18 prices, which are as follows:

• Motorcycle – $100 per year (increase of 66 cents per month).; still no charge if added as a vehicle on any other permit.

• Red – $187 per year (increase of 50 cents per month).

• Gray – $442 per year (increase of $1.08 per month).

• Central – $574 per year (increase of $1.92 per month).

• Pearson – $614 per year (increase of $2 per month).

• Annual garage – $630 per year (increase of $1.84 per month).

Registration for the 2017-18 academic year will be available online beginning the first business day in August at the permits website. In-person sales will begin during move-in weekend (Aug. 26-27) at the Parking Services office.
