UD to kickoff #BlueHenFridays with College Colors Day Sept. 1
Fans are encouraged to celebrate Blue Hen Fridays when the University of Delaware and IMG Collegiate Licensing kick off the 2017 college football season with the 13th annual College Colors Day.
Delaware fans should show off their spirit and don Blue and Gold colors on Thursday, Aug. 31, at 7 p.m., when the Fightin’ Blue Hens host in-state foe Delaware State University at the opening football game of the season at Delaware Stadium.
The following day, fans are invited to wear their Blue and Gold once again as part of College Colors Day, Friday, Sept. 1, at the first field hockey home game. The defending NCAA national champion Blue Hens will host Dartmouth at Fred P. Rullo Stadium at 7 p.m.
College Colors Day will also kick off Blue Hen Fridays, when UD students, faculty and staff are invited to wear Delaware Blue and Gold each Friday during the school year to show their school spirit.
As part of the College Colors Day on Sept. 1, the Barnes & Noble UD Bookstore on Main Street will be offering 20 percent off your entire purchase of UD gear. Wear UD colors to the café that day and get a grande regular ice coffee or regular ice tea for just $1.
In addition, on select Blue Hen Fridays throughout the year – each Friday before a Delaware home football game beginning Sept. 15 – fans will receive 20 percent off all purchases of UD gear in the store and online.
Look for University of Delaware Facebook Frames, Snapchat filters, an Instagram style quiz and Twitter hashtags. Show off your school spirit and pride and tell the world how great Delaware fans are using #UnitedWeFan and #CollegeColorsDay.
Fans can visit CollegeColorsDay.com for the remainder of August to check out college gear giveaways and a chance to win prizes such as watches, tailgate games, hats and apparel. Through the website, fans will also have a chance to register for the chance to win one of two all-expenses-paid trips to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game in Atlanta.
