Green Liaisons Lunch features free flight program

The latest University of Delaware Green Liaisons Sustainability Lecture on Tuesday, March 21, featured alumnus Phung Luu, AG ‘97, an international behavioral and training consultant for animals.

Luu presented a free-flight program featuring several bird species, including sun conures, a silvery cheek hornbill, a green aracari, a rose-breasted cockatoo, owls, a hawk and more. He discussed the conservation of these and other exotic and native bird species.

Free-flight bird programs strive to increase awareness and conservation of bird species through improved interactions between birds and humans.

Programs are featured at schools, state parks, wildlife refuges and zoos as a means of education about bird behavior.

Luu owns and operates both an animal behavior and training company, Behavior and Training Solutions LLC, and a free-flight bird program production company, Animal Behavior and Conservation Connections. He also consults for zoos and organizations on the topics of medical management, husbandry and public interpretation.

With work in avian rehabilitation, animal-related education, airport bird abatement and free-flight show production, Luu has nearly two decades of experience in the animal training industry.

More about Green Liaisons Sustainability Lecture Series
