The University of Delaware Library will offer a workshop titled “Adobe Photoshop: The Basics” on Wednesday evening, Sept. 21.

Adobe Photoshop is the Swiss army knife of multimedia applications. It is useful for a number of projects such as animation, photo editing, graphic design, web design, poster design and much more.

The workshop is for those with little or no experience with Photoshop who want to learn the basics. The workshop will cover how to crop, resize and combine images; use layers and layer masks; adjust curves, saturation and color; and export for the web or print.

“Adobe Photoshop: The Basics” will be offered from 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 21, in Room B of the Student Multimedia Design Center on the lower level of the Morris Library.

The presenter will be Nico Carver, senior assistant librarian and coordinator, Student Multimedia Design Center Services, Multimedia Collections and Services Department.

The workshop is available at no charge and is open to University of Delaware faculty, staff and students. Seating is limited and registration is required. For a complete listing of workshops and to register online, go to this website.

All visitors to the Morris Library need to have photo identification to enter the building, e.g., a UD ONEcard, a U.S. driver’s license or a government-issued or school-issued photo ID. Frequent visitors to the Morris Library, who are 18 years of age or older and who do not have a ONEcard, may visit the Circulation and Reserve desk to register and have their photo taken for a free Library Frequent Visitor card. Once received, this ID can then be used with the card reader at the turnstiles for easy access to the building.
