Nov. 19: Newark Symphony

Composition by UD’s Barker to be featured in concert

The Newark Symphony Orchestra will present a chamber concert featuring work by Jennifer Margaret Barker, professor of music at UD, at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 19, at Newark United Methodist Church, 69 E. Main Street.

Tickets, available at the door or through the orchestra’s website, are $20 for general admission, $15 for seniors, $10 for students and free for anyone in eighth grade or younger.

The concert, “Celebrating Women’s Genius,” will be led by guest conductor Rebekah O’Brien.

Included in the concert will be Barker’s Suilean a’Chloinne (Children’s Eyes) and works by Fanny Mendelssohn, Tae Sakamoto, Jennifer Nicole Campbell and Teresa Procaccini.
