Flexible spending deadline
November 28, 2016
Open enrollment for Flexible Spending Accounts ends Nov. 29
The University of Delaware Human Resources Benefits Office reminds UD faculty and staff that the open enrollment period for 2017 Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) ends Tuesday, Nov. 29, for eligible University employees.
FSAs are voluntary accounts through which UD employees can set aside pre-tax dollars to cover out-of-pocket health care and day care expenses.
The maximum annual amount that can be contributed has increased to $2,600 per employee for the Health Care Account and remains $5,000 per family for the Dependent Care Account
If you wish to participate in a health care FSA for 2017 and/or dependent care FSA for 2017, please enroll as soon as possible, using the webform at http://www.udel.edu/flexnet.
The Human Resources staff is available to help with any questions about FSA enrollment. Employees can reach a benefits representative by emailing hrhelp@udel.edu.
Also, employees are encouraged to take a moment and visit the Statewide Benefits Office webpage on Health Care Consumerism at http://ben.omb.delaware.gov/consumerism/. The site is filled with information and resources to help save money, understand the various health plans, learn about disease prevention and management, and much more.
For example, did you know that you can call the 24/7 Nurse Line to speak with a specially trained registered nurse who can help you make informed health decisions (such as, should I go to the emergency room?) at no cost to you? Highmark Delaware members should call 1-888-258-3428, and Aetna members should call 1-800-556-1555.
Go mobile
FSA participants can file claims on the go and access account statements 24/7 with the ASIFlex Mobile App, which is available at asiflex.com, Google Play or the App Store.
