University of Delaware senior outside hitter Autumn Jenkins has been named the Colonial Athletic Association volleyball offensive player of the week after recording a pair of double-doubles during the Blue Hens’ final regular season matches at James Madison and William and Mary over the weekend.
Jenkins led the Blue Hens with 36 kills, an average of 4.00 per set, during the pair of contests, while hitting .242 and ranking second on the team with 23 digs.
She slammed a match-high 17 kills and led Delaware with 11 digs in Friday’s four-set loss at James Madison, before again leading all players with 19 kills to go with 12 digs in the five-set triumph at William and Mary on Saturday.
Jenkins now has 17 double-doubles on the season, including eight in her last 10 matches. She ranks second on the team with 301 kills (2.69 per set) and 352 digs (3.14 per set), and is tied for sixth in the CAA with 29 service aces.
Jenkins and the Blue Hens, who finished the regular season 14-15 overall and 8-8 in conference play, will take on Northeastern Friday at 7 p.m. in the CAA tournament quarterfinals at the University of North Carolina Wilmington's Hanover Hall.
